Government Activity:
The Knoxville Race Riots caused major uproars in the federal system. Major activists and prominent members such as the President, attorney general along with many others surprisingly were incredibly racist about the entire issue. They too were afraid of the Bolshevik mindset that was falsely sweeping through the nation and thus enacted harsh measures against the blacks.
J. Edgar Hoover, the first director of the FBI, took a racial stance on the situation moldering in the 1920s. From his viewpoint, black independence was unjust and undeserved. He stated...
